The start of something extraordinary

Spotlight on Quality Swim Schools – AUT Millennium Swim School

Opening their doors in 2002 the AUT Millennium Swim School is now one of the biggest swim schools in the country, providing over 100,000 lessons per year.

Based on Auckland’s North Shore, AUT Millennium Swim School are looking forward to the completion of the new Owen G Glenn National Aquatic Centre which will give them more space to cater for even more swim school students.

The Quality Swim School caters for all ages and abilities and offers free trials for any new pre-schoolers looking to join the swim school so they can feel confident and comfortable in the learning environment before booking.

They also run a Schools Programme which focuses on educating school groups in the areas of learn to swim, water safety and education outside of the classroom (EOTC).

Their vision is to see the community live longer, healthier lives. They aim to foster learning and enable swimmers to discover their abilities through a fun environment, enabling them to be the best they can be.

The swim school prides themselves on ensuring they regularly monitor the progress of swimmers and provide them with individual student assessments of all four strokes.

Evaluating the content of the teaching programme and staff helps them to set the bar high and deliver a quality swim school programme.

The instructors at AUT Millennium Swim School all attend the Swimming New Zealand Swim Teacher Award course which has been great for their confidence and new ideas to ensure the lessons are fun and inspiring for the swimmers.

At AUT Millennium they believe in creating pathways to excellence. As a result, they have a close relationship with North Shore Swim club who are based and train at AUT Millennium. When swimmers are ready, or they would like to pursue competitive swimming, the swim school pass them on to the coaches at North Shore Swimming.
