The start of something extraordinary

Wharenui Swimming Pool

The Wharenui Swimming Pool located on the corner of Matipo and Elizabeth Streets is a public pool complex that was originally built on this site in 1911.  The complex features 3 Pools;

1. Toddlers Pool

2. Teaching Pool

3. Length Pool 8 laned 25m pool

The pool is open to all the public and is one of the few pools in the region not operated by the council.  Also located at the pool is an indoor sports stadium and weights gym, both these are currently closed awaiting earthquake repairs with the outlook of reopining mid 2016.  The staff and patrons alike are friendly and willing to assist, the water is crystal clear and the lanes are not overcrowded......so come in and find out!
