Technical Officials Qualifications
At Swim Rotorua we strongly encourage parents of swimmers to train to be a timekeeper at swim meets. Without your help we would be unable to run any meets at all. Once you have qualified as a timekeeper it is possible to train as an inspector of turns (IOT) - again without parents acting in this capacity we would not be able to run any Swimming New Zealand sanctioned swim meets. If you are interested, please contact any of our club officials who can get things started for you.
Should you wish to take things further, then Swimming Bay of Plenty will be happy to help you in your pathway to becoming a regionally qualified starter, judge of strokes and finally a referee. All the Nationally qualified officials in Swim Rotorua started out as timekeepers.
