August 2nd saw the annual Manawatu Winter League at the Dannevirke pool. 100+ swimmers converged on the Dannevirke pool for an afternoon of competition and fun. Many swimmers were new to the sport and were able to have a go at the competition aspect of it in a low pressure competition.

The Dannevirke Team was 30 strong and did very well indeed. Most of our competitive swimmers managed to post personal best times, and our relay teams were very competitive.

Our youngest swimmers at this meet were 6 years old. It is very refreshing to see these swimmers competing and enjoying themselves. Our LTS programmes in both Dannevirke and Palmerston North are producing some very promising athletes.
