Lausanne (SUI), July 2, 2012 - FINA, the Fédération Internationale de Natation, organised a meeting in Lausanne (SUI) on June 29, 2012 with the Cities/National Federations of Eindhoven (NED), Hong Kong (HKG), Houston (USA) and Windsor (CAN) interested in hosting the 12th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) 2016 or the 13th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) 2018.
Furthermore, additional Cities/National Federations expressed their interest to be involved in the bidding process but were not present in Lausanne: Abu Dhabi (UAE), China (city tbc), Christchurch (NZL) and Gold Coast (AUS).
The deadline for candidate Cities/National Federations to submit their formal bid is October 15, 2012. The FINA Bureau will award the organisation of these future events at its meeting on December 11, 2012 in Istanbul (TUR) on the occasion of the 11th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m).
