Final day of swimming at World Uni Games

The New Zealand women’s medley relay swim team has finished eighth in the final on the last day of pool competition at the World University Games in Korea.

The quartet of Caroline Baddock, Natasha Lloyd, Helena Gasson and Laura Quilter had qualified sixth fastest in the 4x100m medley relay in 4:08.22.

They were slightly slower in the evening final to clock 4:09.18.

The title was won by Italy in 4:00.50 with just 25/100ths of a second separating the winners from Japan and USA.

The swimming competition finishes with Kane Radford and Philip Ryan competing in the 10km open water swim at Jangseongho Lake Resort later today (NZ time).
