The start of something extraordinary

Membership

BSC offers two levels of membership.  The ability to competently swim at least 25m (one lap) is the only criteria for club membership - there is no age or technical ability restriction.

Club Swimmers

$30 per annum.

This membership is for the young swimmer who enjoys swimming and would like to pursue it as a sport.  Swimmers do not need to be enrolled in swimming lessons with the Stadium Swim School although this is recommended if the swimmer is not safe or confident  in the water.

Twice per term Have A Go (non-competitive) swim nights are run to encourage fun in the water and provide the opportunity for swimmers to experience some racing in a relaxed environment.  Many of our competitive swimmers started their swimming career at this level.  The Have A Go nights are run with our senior swimmers assisting and we also encourage parents to participate as well (e.g. timekeeping and marshalling).

A Club Swimmer can also participate in the BSC Competitive Meets. At the meet they will swim alongside other  swimmers from BSC or visiting Nelson Marlborough Clubs.  At the meet they can swim in all strokes and we recommend starting with the 50 m events, and 100m as their confidence increases.

Our Club Coaches and the Team Manager are always on hand to at Club Meets to support our youngest swimmers.

Club Swimmers are affiliated with SNZ  and their times are official for local club meets only.

Competitive Swimmers

$110 per annum which includes SNM/SNZ fee.

This is a full membership with affiliation to Swimming Nelson Marlborough and Swimming New Zealand.  Swimmers race at sanctioned meets and times are officially recorded and entered onto the national (SNZ) data base.
