NZ Special Olympic swimmers shine at World Games

A group of six swimmers are part of the New Zealand Special Olympic team competing at the World Summer Games 2015 this week.

Josie Noble had a standout performance earlier in the week in the 100m freestyle to earn New Zealand’s first Special Olympic gold medal and also claimed silver in the 100m individual medley.

Other medallists include Monique Irvine with silver in the 50m backstroke and Stephen Moody with silver in the 100m freestyle.

Also competing is Samuel James-Muir, Sheryl Saunders and Matthew Slone.

The World Summer Games are taking place in Los Angeles from July 25 to August 2 and includes both pool and open water swimming.
