The start of something extraordinary

XLR8 L3 Meet

Thirteen of our Level 3 swimmers entered 58 events at the XLR8 meet on Sauturday 22 August. For some, this was their first competitive swim meet.  Everyone had really pleasing results, with 27 results being Personal Best times. Great work everyone.

It was fanatistic to see our swimmers trying out events they would not previously swum, especially  the 400m Free, where 6 swimmers had never done this before.

The aim of this meet was to introduce swimmers to the XLR8 points incentive, where swimmers can gain badges for the amount a XLR8 points they over the season. To do this they need to swim a medley, distance Freestyle, Form (Breast, Fly or back) and one other.  A flyer is on the wall in the training room for you to read.  This meet has given these swimmers a good start to gaining those badges.

Thanks to Lisa Palethorp our Team Manager, Georgia and Sophie for being our poolside Coaches, Paul  Bowman, Mel Dowty, Carolyn Green and  Lee Wenzlick for volunteering to timekeep and all the parents who supported the swimmers on the day.
