Becoming an Official

Officials are timekeepers, inspectors of turns, starters, referees etc.  Are you interested?

Read the "Becoming an Official" guide by selecting the link below.

Mount Maunganui Swimming Club is fortunate to have a number of qualified officials who regularly volunteer to help at club and regional meets. However, the Club is expected to provide one timekeeper for every four swimmers entering a meet. Given this requirement and the natural progression of swimmers through the Club this means that the Club always needs new timekeepers.

If your child competes regularly in swimming meets then there is an expectation that you qualify as a timekeeper. Examination fees for timekeepers are met by the Club. Please contact a member of the Committee if you would like to become an official.
