Wharenui's own Lesley Huckins has been elected President of Swimming New Zealand.
Last week in Auckalnd at Swimming New Zealand's AGM Lesley Huckins was duly elected for the position, she was nominated by the SNZ Board and every region unanimously supported the nomination. Lesley replaces outgoing President John Mace. Lesley's previous position was as Chairperson of SNZ Technical Advisory Committee.
Huckins has been actively involved in the administration, coaching and officiating for over 30 years after early life as a competitive swimmer. She was one of four senior referees at this year’s FINA World Swimming Championships in Russia.
Additionally, Lesley has also recently been appointed as a Technical Official for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
