JUNIORS SHINE AT COUNTIES JUNIOR CHAMPS

Pukekohe Swimming Club sent a large team of 46 swimmers to contest the Counties Junior Winter Championships in Manurewa last weekend.  It was a highly successful meet with the team winning 40 Gold, 21 Silver and 26 Bronze medals.

 

The stand out performer was Janaye Burns who won 13 Gold Medals and set 9 meet and 3 Counties Records.  Following that was Tavarnya Howe with 10 Golds, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze Medals.  Zeal Jones and Abbey Swain were close behind on 6 Golds each.   Our under 9 Gold Medallists Keara-Kiernan-Erb and Sasha Nichol gained 3 and 2 Golds each.

 

There were some fantastic performances from many of the younger swimmers, some of whom were swimming in their first major meet.  Millie Norman, Olivia Nichol, Max Brears, Roxy Deihl, Keara Kiernan-Erb, Summer Ngavavia, Holly Owen, Levi Potman, Tyler McNaughten, Charlie Millington, Jahko Tohaia, Robson Wallace and Sharon Wessels all swum personal best times in all of their races.
