BOISC has won the 20-person Lions Relay for the third successive year and will retain the trophy. This exciting event features 4 swimmers in each of the following age groups: 9 & under, 10/11, 12/13, 14/15, 16 & over, swimming backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle. The relay starts with the 9 & under age group swimming the above strokes in order, followed by the next age group and so on.
Congratulation to this year’s team: Riley Jepsen, Charlotte Hay, Amy Schuetze, Harlem Going, Brody Going, Gyanne Garner, Maia Williams, Tyler Jepsen, Harvey Williams, Marvin Beckman, Emilia Finer, Nathalie Hull, Trey Going, Nicola Dearnley, Acima Mabidikama, Kori Brown, Samantha Turner, Archie White, Ava Clapton, Neve Clapton. Reserves were Harriet Bunce, Drew White and Ben Turner.
Special thanks go to Harlem Going (7) who joined the team at short notice and swam competitively for the very first time and to Manaia Swim Club for sharing their carnival day and allowing this decades old tradition to continue without missing a year.
