A team of young swimmers from Bay of Islands Swimming Club travelled to Westwave Aquatic Centre in Henderson to take part in the Auckland Junior Championships from 27-29 November. The team, composed of Emilia Finer (11), Tyler Jepsen (10), Harvey Williams (11) and Maia Williams (10), raced against some of the best junior swimmers in the country and from across the Pacific as top swimmers from New Caledonia and French Polynesia were also present. “The qualifying times are quite tough and they all did well just to get there,” said Club President Beth Finer. The team achieved many personal best times but particular mention must go to Tyler Jepsen who won three Bronze medals for the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle.
