The start of something extraordinary

About Us

The Hutt Swim Club is a volunteer organisation to teach and promote swimming to 5-21 year olds in the Hutt Valley.

We have up to a dozen coaches for the 'Learn to Swim' classes which are held in the small pool on Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings.  As new swimmers gain more confidence they graduate to classes teaching more skills before moving to the main pool.

Our main club night is on Tuesday where up to 200 swimmers are coached in three sessions. These sessions are for the majority of our swimmers who have progressed from the small pool and who are working up to a competitive level.

Club Time Event Nights are held Tuesday nights at the end of each term.  Here swimmers are timed for a variety of stokes they choose to. Their times are measured and recorded, which allows them to challenge themselves to better their times each term.

For those that want to compete in wider competition - this is encouraged by not compulsory - there are a number of external meetings that cater both for the novice as well as the more competent swimmer.

Watch our notice board at the pool or here at our website for more infomation.

The club is popular with families and vacancies are dependent on lane availability.
