The start of something extraordinary

About Us

Welcome to Mt Eden Swimming Club.

We are a small family friendly club and welcome new members, whether you just want to improve your technique and fitness level, compete at school swimming, tri-athlon and water polo, swim at a National level or aim for the Olympics.

The Club has been in existence since the early 1900s, starting out as Mt Eden Amateur Swimming Club. Over the years the Club has produced some top swimmers who have competed at the highest level. The Club is linked to the competitive programme of the Dean Greenwood Swim School which provides coaching services and pool facilities. We have squads at Mt Eden and Kelston pools. In summer the Kelston squad train at Glen Eden Intermediate outdoor pool. For a more detailed history and overview of the club see this document

We have two very experienced coaches who have helped our swimmers achieve some fantastic results:

Glenn Hamblyn (Mt Eden) - NZ Team Swimming Coach - Coached 2008 Olympian and World Youth Champs gold medalist

Don McKenna (Kelston)  - French Team Swimming Coach - Coached European Champion

Our Club is run by a Committee of dedicated volunteers made up of parents, coaches and swimmers. Click here for list of current Committee members.
