The Hamilton City Council Quality Swim School believes that age is not a barrier when it comes to developing your skills and confidence in the water.
With a team of dedicated staff, who between them hold a number of Swimming New Zealand qualifications, they aim to ensure each swimmers needs are met and that they can develop at a pace that suits them.
The swim school also have a large programme for swimmers with disabilities and recently helped some of these swimmers compete at the 2016 Junior Halberg Disability Games in Cambridge.
Waterworld learn to swim manager, Christine Hunger, and one of her swim teachers, Zoe Pennell, went along for the swimming events where they were able to offer their support and cheer the athletes on.
Zoe recently received her Swimming New Zealand Swim Teacher Award qualification and is keen to attend the Teaching Swimmers with Disability Course to upskill herself in this area and help increase the amount of students in the programme at Waterworld.
Hamilton City Council has been a Quality Swim School since its inception in 2007.
Waterworld has a hydrotherapy pool specially designed to be easily accessible for all and is a great asset for the learn to swim team.
Hamilton City Council swim school operates in both the Waterworld facility and the Gallagher Aquatic Centre.
