The Sydney 2000 Olympic Games or the Millennium Olympic Games/Games of the New Millennium, officially known as the Games of the XXVII Olympiad, are an international multi-sport event. It is the second time that the Summer Olympics are being held in the Southern Hemisphere, the first one being in Melbourne, Victoria in 1956.The Sydney 2000 Olympic programme featured 300 events in 28 sports.
