The start of something extraordinary

Meet the team for Glasgow 2014 - Women's 4x200m freestyle relay team

Two of this year’s women’s 4x200m freestyle relay team for Glasgow 2014 have already made it to the podium in this event at a Commonwealth Games.

Natasha (Tash) Hind and Lauren Boyle were part of the 4x200m freestyle relay team at Delhi 2010 that won a silver medal, and this year at Glasgow they will be joined by two new relay team mates Samantha Lucie-Smith and Emma Robinson for the event.

Tash, who is from Capital Swim Club and is part of the Wellington Regional High Performance Centre, was also part of the 4x100m freestyle relay team at Delhi 2010 that collected a bronze medal.

Emma, the youngest of the group, is also from Capital Swim Club and is part of the Wellington Regional High Performance Centre. In 2013 Emma was part of the team for the 15th FINA World Championships in Barcelona competing in the open water 10km.

“We are all having a fun time training together, as this is the first place where we have all been together,” said Emma.

“It’s great to have the support, and be able to push each other in training. We are excited to see what we can do in Glasgow.

“For me representing New Zealand means that I get to show everyone how much work I put into swimming, it also means I get to make my country and family proud.”
