Entries start from $5 for kids and $65 for adults (includes swim cap and give away's). Ages are as at the 13th of January 2018.

* Note: All entrants in the New Zealand Open Water Championships must be a member of a Swimming New Zealand club. To participate in the recreational Epic Swim's you do not need to be a member of Swimming New Zealand.

Cut off for 1k: 45 minutes

Epic 2.5km
12 and over
$500 to the first male and female swimmers across the finish line

Cut off for 2.5k: 1 hour 30 minutes**

Epic 10km
13 and over
Participants in this race can have a designated feeder on the feeding boat located at the start/finish end of the course. Feeders may be responsible for more than one swimmer. Feeders will be transported to the feeding boat before the start of the race and will be returned when all swimmers are finished. Feeders must not throw drink bottles or food at swimmers.

Epic Epic 17.5km
13 and over
There will be a trophy for the first male and female swimmers based on combined times from the three distances. No age group medals will be awarded for this race with participants eligible for medals in their respective age groups for the Epic 10km, Epic 5km and Epic 2.5km races.
