PR 83 - SWC 2013: Cluster 2, Le Clos (RSA) and Hosszu (HUN) increase lead

Lausanne (SUI), October 22, 2013 – The second cluster (Moscow, Dubai, Doha) of the FINA Swimming World Cup 2013 successfully concluded on October 21 with Chad Le Clos (RSA) and Katinka Hosszu (HUN) still ahead with an imposing lead. After five stops (out of eight), Le Clos bagged six gold (11 medals in total) while Hosszu captured 20 gold for an overall 36 medal tally.

In Doha, France set a new World record in the mixed 4x50m freestyle and medley relays, in respective times of 1:31.14 and 1:39.54. American Thomas Shields had the top performance of the meet in the 100m butterfly, clocking 48.80 for a total 980 points. Among women, Katinka Hosszu earned 979 points for her swift effort in the 200m individual medley (2:05.45).
