The start of something extraordinary

Glenmoor School embrace water safety skills

The children of Glenmoor School in Christchurch were recently visited by Swim Safe Advisor Tracey Hickman. As part of the State Kiwi Swim Safe programme we include water safety at every opportunity possible. In preparation for their swimming lessons Tracey discussed water safety and life jacket safety with the children.

The children learnt where and when they should wear lifejackets and how to fit them properly. We would like to thank Christchurch City Council for their funding to provide children’s life jackets for schools to use in Christchurch. This gives all the children an opportunity to learn and feel what a properly fitted jacket should feel like. The children share what they have learnt with their parents providing an on-flow of education into the community on life jacket safety.

20 children’s life jackets are available for schools to borrow in Christchurch who are delivering the State Kiwi Swim Safe programme. To book a date for your school to take up this great offer please contact:
