The start of something extraordinary

Koru visits Camberley School

Camberley School has recently had work done around the school to enhance it. These enhancements included the pool surroundings which meant the pool was out of action for term 4 but was ready to go for term 1 2013.

Principal Pat Watson and his dedicated staff have always been passionate about supporting the students with their swimming and took on the State Kiwi Swim Safe programme in 2012.

Their teachers received training and support from Fiona Hurley (Swim Safe Advisor). In November 2012 the school was donated 35 swimming caps and 35 pairs of goggles to support their swimming.

Students have continued to further develop their skills and knowledge around the water using the programme and recently they received a visit form Koru the kiwi. The event was welcomed with open arms and Rachel Hurunui from State Insurance came along to meet with the children.

New assistant principal Rob Jones helped the visit and presentation run smoothly and children received hugs and high fives from Koru and posed for photos with the kiwi.
