The start of something extraordinary

Get behind our swimmers on the road to the Commonwealth Games

The State New Zealand Open Championships get underway next month with an opportunity for the public to get along and see some of New Zealand’s best swimmers compete at the Westwave Aquatic Centre in Henderson, Auckland.

The event which runs from 8th- 11th April and doubles as qualifying for the Commonwealth Games, Pan Pacific Championships and Oceania Championships is sure to deliver some exciting and world class swimming.

Top New Zealand swimmers competing at the event include the likes of triple world championship medallist Lauren Boyle, Emerging Talent of the Year Halberg Award winner Gabrielle Fa’amausili and Corey Main, who will be returning to New Zealand for the event following on from a successful Southeastern Conference College Championship in the United States for Florida University.

This is a great chance for people to support and get behind our New Zealand swimmers and be part of their journey towards the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

SKY Television will also be broadcasting the four day event live for the first time. Read more about that here.

We look forward to seeing you at the Westwave Aquatic Centre in just over a couple of weeks!
