SOUTHLAND CHAMPS LC (16/17 Dec Invercargill)
Congratulations to Laura and Keira who competed at this meet.
Laura won silver in 200 free, 100 breast, 200IM and a bronze in 100 free and 3 other top 6 placings. Laura had 8 events, 8 finals and 11 of those were PB’s she also made 2 new NZ Div II times (100 breast and 100 free).
Keira also had a great meet getting a new time for her 100 back, PB and new qualifying time for NZ Junior Festival in 50 back. Also a PB in 100 free so well done Keira.
Kiwi Challenge Meet (Moana Pool)
At this meet, we had 19 Taieri swimmers attend. Overall we had 55 PB's, ranging from 0.06 to a massive 13 seconds!!! For some swimmers, this was a meet to get some new times, and try out some different races, and some were competing for some qualifying times.
Awesome job to Harrison Thode who collected Junior Festival times in all of his races! In her first official meet, Evie Gilmour picked up two finalist ribbons, well done Evie! Congratulations to Kylie Gale, who recorded the biggest PB from a Taieri swimmer, taking off 13.86 seconds in her 50 Back!
Taieri swimmers took home heaps of medals: Golds go to Hope Burke, 50 Back, Lewis Divers, 50 Back and 100 Back, Harry Summers, 100 Fly and 200 Back, Jordan Summers, 50 Free, 100 Free and 200 Free, and Finn Wilson, 100 Breast, 50 Free, 100 Free, 100 Breast and 100 IM! Silvers for Lewis Divers (2), Keira Hughes (3), Harry Summers (2), Jordan Summers (2), Finn Wilson (1), and Jemma Wilson (2). Niamh Burke took off almost 6 seconds in her 200 free, awesome effort! Joshua Kyle took home a finalist ribbon in the 9-10 years 50 Breast, great job! Jacob Struthers competed in 6 new races, getting 6 new times. Erin Willis took home 3 finalist ribbons for her swims in the 200 free, 50 fly, and 200 IM. Renee also took home 3 ribbons for 50 free, 100 fly, and 200 free. Way to go girls! Jessie Yee took of 3 seconds in her 200 back, earning her a bronze medal. Awesome job Jessie!
Also well done to Leila and Kael Hughes, who took home finalist ribbons in both of their events! Congratulations to Kristin WIllis, who did some huge PB's, taking off more than 10 seconds in her 100 back, and 8 seconds off her 100 fly! That's aweome!
Our A relay team managed second place in both the 200 Free and 200 medley relay. Both relays consisted of Erin Willis, Renee Willis, Niamh Burke and Harry Summers, and our B relay team consisting of Jessie Yee, Lewis Divers, Keira Hughes and Finn Wilson got 4th in the freestyle and 6th in the Medley.
Awesome job everyone, the Club is very proud of you. Thanks to all our parents who helped out and also the Steve and Susan working behind the scenes.
Orca Meet (Invercargill)
Taieri were on fire - 14 medals, 17 additional top 8 placings, 29 pbs, Jordan overall age group winner ($50), Erin in the winning Orca Relay ($50)! Fantastic effort from our team of 7 swimmers, Laura, Keira, Harry, Jordan, Erin W, Renee and Kristin. Congrats also to Keira and Renee who achieved more qualifying times for the Makos Junior Festival in Feb 2018, and Laura new Div II time (March 2018). NZ Short Course Champs (Auckland)
Congratulations to Jordan who attended NZ Short Course Champs. Jordan collected a bronze medal in the 200 br, taking off a massive 7 seonds! She also took home a 4th in 200fly, 6th in 100 br and 100 fly, 7th in 400 IM, and 9th in 200IM in 50 br. She broke Taieri Swim Club's U15 record for 100IM, and broke the Club's Open 100 Fly record with a time of 1.06.23. She also did 8 pbs in her 10 races, and made Open Top 40 finals in 4 of her races. Well done!
Colin Walker Memorial Meet (Queenstown)
Congrats to Laura who attended this meet. Laura took 54sec off her 400 IM to claim first, also pb and first in her 200 IM and first in 50 fr, pb and 2nd 200 br and 3rd 50 bk. A VERY successful meet! Well done Laura https://otago.swimming.org.nz/event.php?id=402
Zenith Meet
Congrats to all the Taieri swimmers who attended this meet and thank you to Wendy out TM, and our timekeepers and of course Steve and Susan working behind the scenes.
Huge congrats to Niamh who got 5 pbs from 5 swims, Keira 3 pbs from 3 swims, Kael 2 pbs from 2 swims and Jordan 1 pb from 1 swim. Congrats also to Josh and Leila who achieved pbs.

NZ Secondary Schools (Hamilton)
Congrats to Laura and Jordan who represented Taieri College and Columba College. This meet was long course (50m pool). Lauras top placing was in the 100 br where she place 26th in the 16years age group. Laura swam L/C pbs and was the only rep from Taieri College. Jordan won silver in the 200 fly (14years) and collected two 4ths and in total 7 top 10 placings and did a few pbs.
AIMS GAMES (TAURANGA)
Congrats to Harry who represented JMC. Harry made all 8 finals and 6 new pbs and won bronze in 50 Fly. His time of 33.90 was 0.03 behind 1st= and 0.01 ahead of 4th. Very close! Harry broke Courtland's Club Record in the 100IM.

400 IM and 200 IM 4th
100 Back 8th and 100 fly 8th
200 Fly 9th.

Laura Bungard NZ Div II
Laura represented Taieri at the NZ Div II Swim Champs held in Rotorua. Laura achieved 4 pbs and two 9th placings. Well done Laura
NZ Junior Festival
The fastest 10-12 year olds in the South Island attended this meet. Team Taieri achieved 72% PBs which is amazing.
Special mention to Jemma who won gold in 12years 50 fr and to Harry, 7 golds, 2 silver and bronze and in the 10yr age group
