Junior Club Captain Intro

Hello Taieri Swimming Club, Junior Swimmers and Parents

My name is Bridget Hughes and this season I will be your Junior Club Captain. I have four children Keira (10) who swims with the Taieri Swimming Club Squad on Tuesdays 6-7pm, Thursdays 6-7pm and Saturdays 10.30-12. She is coached by the wonderful Michelle Summers and Courtland Ellis. Kael is (8) and Leila (6) who swim with the junior groups and Alyssa (4) who will join us next season. I am a Year 7 teacher at Taieri College in the TK Department. My husband Marty works for Oceana Gold at Macraes as their Senior Mine Engineer.

My role is to be a regular face and ‘go to person’ in attendance at junior groups, should you have any questions about the Taieri Swimming Club. I may not know the answer but I will do my best to answer it or find out from someone who will know and get back to you.

I will be available to answer any questions about swimming meets that your swimmer may like to attend. I have attended a few myself with Keira now and I am only too happy to answer any of your questions you may have around these.

There are always plenty of meets over the season but if you just wanted an introduction to meets that were friendly then I would recommend the Kiwi Meet at Moana Pool in November. The Kiwi Meet even has an 8 and under section. I would highly recommend our very own Taieri Carnival in March. These meets would provide a source of motivation and a goal to work towards over the coming season. If you are interested please let me know.

We hope that you enjoy your swimming season with us at the Taieri Swimming Club and will let us know of any concerns or questions that you may have so that we can do our best to meet your expectations.

Regards Bridget Hughes
