Two individuals stand out on day two of the State NZ Division II competition

Matamata swimmer Thomas Raymond continued to impress on the second day of the State NZ Division II competition claiming gold in the 200m individual medley and 200m freestyle.

Raymond now has four medals including gold in the 400m freestyle and a silver in the 200m backstroke from the opening night.

While in the girls events it was Quianna Thomson from Howick Pakuranga who shone through after the fourth session wrapped up as she also took her medal count up to four.

Thomson took home gold in the 200m individual medley and 200m freestyle events and silver in the 100m backstroke, adding to her gold in the 200m backstroke from the first night.

In the club points it’s still St Peters Swimming Academy who lead the way with 329 points with second and third going to Coast Swim Club on 315 points and North Canterbury Swim Club on 291 points.

There are over 330 swimmers taking part taking part in the State NZ Division II competition for swimmers 13 to 18 years. The competition continues until Saturday.
