Swimming New Zealand is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Newman as interim CEO following the departure of Christian Renford.
Newman has amassed more than 25 years of experience in the sport and events sector and has held previous CEO roles with NZ Water Polo and up until mid-2014 spent seven years as CEO with Athletics NZ.
Newman has most recently been undertaking consultancy work for several other national sporting organisations, while assisting the development of a number of elite coaches and managing several elite athletes. He has also been part of the team that delivers the NZ leg of the V8 Supercars event.
Newman will commence his role with Swimming New Zealand on August 8th 2016 taking on all day to day responsibilities of the role while the process to recruit a permanent CEO takes place.
