“I felt great going into the race, I had a good warm up and rearing to go but for whatever reason it just did not come together for me," Dubber said.

"I feel a bit let down with this swim but overall it has been an awesome Paralympic Games for me. You have got to be happy with a bronze medal. I just need to take this swim in my stride and learn from it.”

The gold medal went to Coan McKenzie (USA) who put in a dominant performance to win in 5:05.77. Second and third was Jordan Cortney (USA) and Susannah Rodgers (GBR) respectively.

Tomorrow sees the brilliant Mary Fisher back in the pool in the 100m freestyle S11 and Jesse Reynolds in the 100m butterfly S9.
