Interested in volunteering at the World Masters Games 2017?

Be part of the 4,000 strong Pit Crew who will assist in delivering the world’s largest multi-sport event.

Swimming (pool and ocean) has a number of volunteer roles available during the Games and there is something for everyone.

There are two volunteer categories specific to Swimming, below is a brief description about these roles:

Technical Officials – volunteers who are experiences in assisting with the delivery of Swimming, such as Technical Officials and those working in the AOD room.

Sport Crew – filling all other roles that are essential to the delivery of Swimming, such as medal ceremonies assistants, workforce, registration, marshals and equipment set up.

As a member of the WMG2017 Pit Crew you will receive a uniform, Pita Pit meal and refreshments at each shift, invitation to a volunteer ‘Thank You’ event at the conclusion of the Games, access to free public transport to get to/from your shifts (on Auckland Transport buses and trains) as well as some extra surprise elements throughout the Games.

As Pit Crew you will gain work experience, make new friends and play an integral role in the delivery of the Games!

  1. Via the World Masters Games website http://www.worldmastersgames2017.co.nz/get-involved/volunteers/  applying as Sport Crew. If you have Technical Official qualifications you can use the endorsement code: SWIMOFF. All other positions use the code: SWIMSC
  2. Fill in the Application found on the Swimming New Zealand website https://www.swimming.org.nz/world-masters-games.html and return it to kirsty@swimming.org.nz


To ensure you receive you accreditation and uniform before Games time please have your applications in by Thursday December 22nd 2016.
