The start of something extraordinary

Golden Goggles

Who would have guessed that everyone wants to get their hands on the Golden Goggles?

Yes each race night the Golden Goggles have been highly sort by each of the TSC relay teams.  Week 1 and 2 saw the SHARKS get their Jaws into the trophy, then Week 3 and 4 the Crocs locked their teeth into it and the Tunas now hold the Golden Goggles until the first race night in 2017.

Our TSC swimmers have been divided into 3 teams, the Tunas, Sharks and Crocs, and the final event of each race night is the team relays. 8 swimmers per team, 2 relays per team. During the relay the lead changes many times and its actually quite surprizing who finishes first. It doesn't matter if you are in the Gold Squad or Junior Devo Squad, or if you are 16 or 6, every swimmer takes part.

The idea came about from Keegan (our swimmers representative) suggesting it to the committee. He saw it as a way to build more team spirit and also to ensure all swimmers were committed to taking part in race nights.

The best part about these teams is that all the swimmers know each other and make sure they know that everyone is an imporatant part of their team and the club. It is a superb way to complete each race night.
