The start of something extraordinary


FINA is pleased to release its first ever mobile application developed in partnership with OMNIGON, digital partners with many of the most important global brands in the sports, media and entertainment industries.

The launch of this app, which primarily focuses on swimming for the first release, coincides with the 13th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m), taking place on December 6-11 in Windsor, Canada.

A second release of the app is planned for March 2017 with Diving data and results being the focus. Finally, the complete version of the app will be released prior to the FINA World Championships 2017 in July in Budapest (HUN) and will include all FINA’s six aquatic disciplines.

With this app, FINA sought to create an engaging, fan-centric experience that would ignite interest in the sport, drive engagement and bring fans closer to the athletes than ever before. To meet these objectives, features of the app include a comprehensive results section featuring both live and historic data back to the year 2000.

Within the results section, users can search by events and explore detailed results including split times and records. Additionally, the app also features a robust event hub, with event details and schedules for upcoming, current and the most recent events.

There is also a complete section dedicated to over 15’000 athlete profiles, including biographical information, nationality, race by race results, images and links to their social media feeds. A dedicated media section brings the latest press releases, news articles, video and photo highlights, and social streams directly to users on the move.
