On Saturday 4 Feb 2017 our club swimmers and their families had a great day out at the Matamata Sponsored Meet. Twenty-three of our swimmers competed ranging from our senior members (including Darryl our club Chairperson preparing for the World Masters Games in April) to some of our very welcome newest members including first-time competitors. The weather was fantastic, the atmosphere was fun and there was some good racing. Congratulations to all those swimmers who achieved personal best times and prizes. Particular congratulations to Michael Chapman (pictured) who came a very close second in the Boys 12 and Under Skins event and picked up a stash of prize money through the day. Thanks to all the parents who helped out with jobs, particularly Michelle and Suzanne for managing swimmers and volunteers on pool deck. It was great to see so many parents willing to tag-team with the time keeping which made the day easier for all. Also a big thank you to Don for coaching all the swimmers.
