Last night (NZT) was Day three of finals at the Pan Pacific Para-Swimming Championships at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Centre in California and saw the NZ Para-Swim team pick up another two gold and one bronze medal.
Leading the way in the Women's S7 100m Backstroke was Rebecca Dubber who achieved her first International gold medal, winning the title in 01:25.67. Rebecca was closely followed by Nikita Howarth who took the Bronze medal in another personal best time of 01:27.61.
In the Women's S11 100m Backstroke Mary Fisher swam a very fast 1:18.94 to secure her 4th gold medal of the meet in yet another PB time.
In the Men's 100m Freestyle Jesse Reynolds competed in the S9 class. In a world class field Jesse recorded another PB and finished 8th in a time of 01:00.48. In the Men's S10 100m final Daniel Gaualofa also finished in 8th position.
In the Men's 100m Breaststroke finals NZ were represented by Christopher Arbuthnott and Daniel Gaualofa in the SB9 classification. The boys finished in 6th and 7th position respectively in yet another world class field.
The PNZ Swim team has now won 6 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal.
Today sees the swimmers back in action competing in the Men's and Women's 200m Individual Medley and the Men's 100m Backstroke.
