Over 150 Auckland students aged between 5 and 15 competed in the annual YMCA Auckland Swim School Showdown last month.
The annual competition enables YMCA swim school students from across Auckland the opportunity to compete against each other under the guidance of swim school coaches.
YMCA Swim School Quality Services Manager Karla McCaughan says many of the young participants are eager to test their skills in a competitive environment. “The event is designed to be a day of fun but also to introduce participants to a competitive swim environment.”
A group of 29 students from Lagoon Pool and Leisure Centre managed by YMCA took out the Swim School Showdown title for the third consecutive year.
