Committed to ensuring their students have the skills and knowledge to enjoy the water safely teachers from St Josephs, Balclutha attended a professional development day with Swimming New Zealand.
With no pool at the school they head to Centennial Swimming Pool where teachers take the swimming lessons with the help of parent volunteers.
After the teachers completed the professional development day with Swimming New Zealand Education Manager Chris Morgan they ran information sessions for the parents that assist them in and around the water during their lessons.
The professional development day included theory based work followed by Chris assisting the teachers on poolside.
