The adidas Group has partnered with Parley for the Oceans to raise awareness of the fragility of the oceans and to collaborate on projects to protect them.
"The conservation of the oceans is a cause close to my heart and to those of many employees at the adidas Group," says Eric Liedtke, adidas Group Executive Board Member. "By partnering with Parley for the Oceans we are contributing to a great environmental cause. We will co-create fabrics made from ocean plastic waste to integrate into our product."
The primary mission of Parley for the Oceans is to save as much marine life as possible. They achieve this by cleaning up plastic from shorelines, and by removing discarded fishing equipment which trap and kill sea life in the open seas. They also establish systems to intercept plastic waste before it ends up in landfills or is discarded into rivers and oceans.
