Celyn Edwards (Christchurch), Jesse Reynolds (Hamilton) and Chris Arbuthnott (Palmerston North) were the biggest contributors to the haul of achievements collectively smashing nine national and one Oceania record, two Commonwealth Games qualification times and Reynolds swimming into the world number 3 spot.
While team mates and Rio 2016 Paralympians Rebecca Dubber (North Shore) and Tupou Neiufi (Howick Pakuranga) set a national record and swam a Commonwealth Games qualification time respectively.

Another record fell tonight as Celyn Edwards set and broke the Oceania record in the SB8 50 Breaststroke!!

Both heat and final swims were personal bests as well as another pb in the heats of the 50 freestyle.

Ieuan Edwards also set a new best time with a 2 second pb in the 50 Breaststroke heats. Well done guys!!!

I'm very proud of the way these two have raced this week! They have both displayed a great step up in skills, intensity, discipline and independence which has shown through some impressive results.

Today had some big ups and downs - Celyn was unfortunately disqualified in the 200 IM but brushed it off well to take a full second off his 50 fly time finishing 4th in the Junior age group. Ieuan had two great swims today pb'ing both his 100 back and 200 breast also showing a great racing attitude.

For myself, this was an amazing experience and meet to be part of! The talent throughout the world and across all classifications was superb to watch. Being part of an NZ team is a special experience and one Celyn embraced completely. I'm very much looking forward to the next training phase through to NZ Short Course and then on to the 2018 Commonwealth Games!
