Swimming Waikato celebrate at annual awards evening


Swimming Waikato recently held their annual awards evening celebrating the great performances and remarkable people in the Waikato region.

Over 240 guests including swimmers, their families, coaches, officials, volunteers and funding partners gathered to celebrate the last twelve months of swimming in the region.


The evening was highlighted by awards to Hamilton Boys College's Andrew Jeffcoat (pictured below) for Emerging swimmer of the year and Fairfield Swimming Club who won Club of the Year.

Swimming Waikato 2017 Major Award Winners:

Volunteer of the Year – Jamie Soo Choon (Hillcrest Swimming Club)

Emerging Technical Official of the Year – Kazuko Tapper (St Peters Swimming Club)

Merit Award – Alison Fitch (St Peters Swimming Club)

Life Membership – Tim Rogers (Matamata Swimming Club)

NZ Swimming Trust Emerging Swimmer of the Year – Andrew Jeffcoat (Fairfield Swimming Club)

Swimmer of the Year – Bradlee Ashby (Fairfield Swimming Club)

Coach of the Year – Matt Teokotai White (Hillcrest Swimming Club)

Club of the Year – Fairfield Swimming Club
