Meet The Coaches

Darryl Gledhill

Darryl begun swimming at the age of 11. He gained National titles and records before retiring from competitive swimming at 20. Darryl has competed at Masters swimming events where he has gained national titles.  Darryl has been coaching since early 2000 and has been the Head Coach at Ice Breaker Aquatics since 2010. Darryl works with senior level squads and national representative squads and mentors junior swim coaches. Darryl accomplishments include:

  • Bronze Certified Swimming Coach
  • ACA Junior Skills Accreditation
  • Manawatu Swimming Service Award
  • Life Member of Ice Breaker Aquatics
  • Winner of the Manawatu Grassroots Volunteer of the Year 2012
Lander Sanisitou

Lander is a proud Niuean.  Lander moved to New Zealand at the age of 12.  Since secondary school Lander has been involved in rugby, rugby league, touch rugby and body building as a coach and mentor.  Lander has a background in personal training.  Lander is driven by his passion of sports and to help youth strive in any sport. Lander wants to return to the water and 'smash' it. Lander is senior coach.

Emma has a considerable background in swimming with competitive squads.  Emma learnt swimming from an early age and swimming remains a passion. Emma's interests are guitar and music.   In her freetime she enjoys walking her dog. Emma coaches the junior squads but from time-to-time takes senior squads.
