Massive congratulations to Josie who swam at the Special Olympics National Summer Games at the end of November. She swam in the 100 Individual medley, 100 Freestyle and 200 Freestyle. It was the first time that she had swum a 200 event. She placed first in the medley, fourth in the 100 Freestyle and second in the 200 Freestyle. She also swam the breaststroke leg in a medley relay and the team placed third. Josie swam in a World games in 2015 and she trained very hard for those so her times this time were not quite up to those but they were very creditable, of course her time in the 200 Freestyle was a PB!
Josie was part of a team of close to 80 athletes from Canterbury and there were 18 swimmers. They all came away with at least one medal.
