The start of something extraordinary

2018 Division II Competition

The Mt Eden Swimming Club dominated the pool at the recent Swimming New Zealand Division II Competition which ran from 18 – 21 March at the Rotorua Aquatic Centre. The 13 strong team of Kyle Bird, Sam Charles, Joshua Drake, Ben Henwood, Rebecca Hunter, Rebecca Julian, Jacob Laurence, Nia Lloyd, Eve McLoughlin, Isra Rahman, Connor Smith, Olivia Stairmand and Daniel Walker finished well clear at the top of the Combined Team Scores table of 90 competing clubs from around the country. With nearly 50% more points than the second placed club, the status of New Zealand’s top swimming club at this competition was unchallenged.
The unparalleled success was built on outstanding individual performances and relay team performances shared throughout the team. Particular congratulations to the following medal winners, and to all those who made finals and made qualifying times to the up-coming premier NAGS event.
