The start of something extraordinary

2019 SWIMMING NEW ZEALAND EVENTS ANNOUNCEMENT

Swimming New Zealand would like to formally announce the 2019 events calendar and venues.

The 2019 Aon NZ National Age Group Championships will return to Wellington after being hosted in Auckland this year.

General Manager of Swimming Wellington Martyn Newman-Hall is excited the region will assist in hosting the event.

"Being able assist in holding the Aon NZ National Age-group Championships is great for our region and we are extremely excited to be working alongside Swimming New Zealand, and with special support from the Wellington City Council, to bring a fantastic event to our city."

After two years of the Division II National Championships being held in Rotorua, the event will now move back to the South
Island.

Dunedin's Moana Pool will be the venue of the 2019 Division II National Championships, with support from Swimming Otago.

Swimming New Zealand Head of Participation Andy Kent extends the organisations appreciation towards Swimming Bay of Plenty and their organising committee and volunteers.

"We would like to thank Swimming Bay of Plenty for their outstanding contribution for the last two years towards Division II Championships."

Kent also added, "moving the event to Dunedin increases the opportunity for our South Island swimmers to participate in a national event and we look forward to working alongside Swimming Otago."

The New Zealand Secondary School Championships will return to Hamilton's Waterworld in 2019.

The facility is currently undergoing extensive refurbishments which include increasing pool depth and pool side seating.

Qualifying times and further event details will be released in the coming months.
