Dash Swim School in Porirua, Wellington caters for the greater Porirua region, and runs swimming lessons out of Cannons Creek Pool in Porirua.
The Quality Swim Schools mission is to reduce drowning rates in Porirua through water safety education. This is supported by providing high quality programmes to the local community through school programmes, community initiatives and swimming lessons for infants, young children, school aged children and adults.
One aspect of their programme they are particularly proud of is their water safety week, where all swimmers participate in a range of water safety activities including experiencing a lifejacket, swimming in clothes, swimming through seaweed, simulation of falling from a riverbank, and swimming in moving water. This is a new part to their programme that is encouraged by swim school staff and enjoyed by all participants.
The swim school provides an environment which challenges children’s swimming and water safety skills and extends their self-esteem and confidence.
Dash Swim School prides itself on providing affordable lessons to the diverse community of Porirua City and works very hard to engage their community.
