SNZ acknowledges outstanding services to swimming

The 2014 Swimming New Zealand Service and Honours Awards were announced at the recent Annual General Meeting, recognising those who have made outstanding contributions to the sport.

An Honours Award is presented for continuing active service of an outstanding nature to the sport for a period of 10 years’ service following the receipt of a Service Award. The Awards Committee may consider a lesser period for exceptional service.

This year’s Honours Awards went to Ron Clarke (Canterbury West Coast), Lyn Sutherland (Southland),Dianne Farmer (Manawatu), Judith Wright (Auckland),Jo Draisey (Auckland) and Donna Bouziad (Taranaki).

A Service Award is presented for active service of an outstanding nature to the sport for a period of not less than 12 years. The Awards Committee may consider a lesser period where Service has been of an exceptional nature at a National Level.

Recognised for their contribution to swimming receiving Service Awards this year was Dave Beattie (Counties Manukau), Horst Miehe (Counties Manukau), Suzanne Speer (Auckland) and Fiona Campbell (Canterbury West Coast).
