The start of something extraordinary

Welcome to Waimea Swimming Club

Waimea Amateur Swimming Club is the oldest swim club in Nelson. It is a fully volunteer, parent run club. Our coaches are all volunteers and give up their time to coach our swimmers.

We have four squads: Gold (seniors), Silver, Bronze and Copper. Children move up through the squads as their swimming proficiency increases.

Waimea Amateur Swimming Club operates out of the solar heated Waimea College outdoor pool situated in sunny Richmond, Nelson.  We swim at the College pool over the summer season and the Richmond Aquatic Centre over winter.

Winter swim training at the Richmond Aquatic Centre will start on Monday, 30 April 2018 for our Gold squad and Monday, 28 May for all other squads. Training will run until end of October 2018.

Training days/times by squad are listed below:

  • Gold   - 7.00-8.30pm (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 10.00-11.00am (Sunday) with Eileen & Jos,
