The start of something extraordinary

Swimming sports a great success for Kiwi Swim Safe School

Kiwi Swim Safe School St Thomas More Catholic School in Mt Maunganui recently held their second annual swimming sports day with nearly double the amount of participants from last year.

The optional event was only open to Year 3-6 students and was held at Baywave, their local community pool, as they do not have a school pool.

Confidence grew as the day progressed with more students entering longer distances or different strokes.

Although a majority of students had never competed in a swimming race before they were all willing to give it a go.

There was great talent, skills and determination displayed on the day with some fast times and records posted and or broken.
