Day 5 NAGs

The final day of NAGs got off to a great start with Richie Sasse swimming a fantastic race to pick up a bronze medal in the 200 Fly. Ruby and Bryony had both swam well in the time finals of the 800 free earlier in the day to finish 4th and 8th in their age groups. Sean, Alex and Patrick all finished the meet well in their respective events to add to the SZR points tally and a final placing of 12th Club overall.
Fantastic swimming all meet from our SZR swimmers. It was a great atmosphere at the pool with swimmers focused on doing well in their races and supporting each other throughout the meet. Big ups to all those swimmers who represented the club and region in relays, some coming in on sessions they weren’t scheduled to swim on to do this. Thank you to our coaches; John, Kelly and Frank who were at the pool all week supporting and encouraging our swimmers.

Day 4 NAGs

SZR distance freestylers did a great job in the morning session with Tom, Ryan and Sean all doing big PBs in the timed finals of the 1500 metres Freestyle. Sean went on to win a bronze medal in his age group. In the evening it was the SZR junior fly swimmers producing the PBs with Ruby taking a bronze, Chelsey 4th and Lucy 6th all in personal best times. The evening finished with some fantastic relay swims from SZR swimmers (Sean, Patrick, Anton, Tsai, Alex, Bryony) in the Regional Relays, with the 16 and over girls taking bronze in their race.

Day 3 NAGs

SZR 200 Freestylers; Aragorn, Chelsey, Ruby and Alex had a good night, Chelsey leading the way with a Wellington Record in her final and Ruby backing it up with a bronze medal in her race. Bryony and Alex had solid swims to gain bronze medals in their respective events. Our Breast strokers, Richie and Brendan both did PBs in their finals adding to the SZR points total. The night finished off with SZR girls Medley relay team of; Alex, Bryony, Kaitlyn and Chelsey finishing 6th in their final.

Day 2 NAGs

The SZR 400 IMers led the way on Day of 2 at NAGS, with Richie, Sean and Tim all swimming great races. Sean held off the competition to finish in third position. Chelsey and Alex both swam well in the 50 Fly, with Alex picking up a silver. The 100 Freestylers; Chelsey, Ruby, Alex and Aragorn, all swam well helping Swimzone to 9th position in the club points after day 2. Aragorn took 3 seconds off his seed time throughout the day to break the minute and place 5th. 7 SZR swimmers represented Wellington in the Regional Relays, with the 15 and under boys (Patrick and Jake) finishing in bronze position.

Day 1 NAGS

SZR have made a fantastic start to NAGS with 5 medals on the first night. Chelsey had a great swim in the 50 Free to win gold. Ruby Heath taking away two medals in the session. A nail bitting finish in Sean’s 200 Back with a 0.9 difference between 1st and 4th. Our senior girls Alex and Bryony taking bronze in their races. Lucy dropping 2 seconds to finish 4th in her 200 Fly. The session finished with some exciting relays from our 15 and under teams.
