For the very first time two of Australasia’s leading water safety organisations AUSTSWIM (Australasian Council for the Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety) and Water Safety New Zealand (WSNZ) united to present an international conference on water safety and aquatic education.
The International Water Safety and Aquatic Education Conference was held in Queenstown from 3-5 October. Over two information-packed days, conference participants from across the sector presented and discussed a wealth of initiatives, concepts, research, and programmes in water safety and aquatic education.
The Swimming New Zealand Education team attended a vast array of sessions throughout the conference witnessing some great presentations that provided plenty of new ideas for the learn to swim advisors. Thanks to everyone that attended from the industry to make this a fantastic conference and congratulations to all the Water Safety New Zealand and AUSTSWIM award winners.
