The start of something extraordinary

Spotlight on Quality Swim Schools - Rotorua Swimsation

Rotorua Swimsation certainly lives up to the mission of the Rotorua Aquatic Centre.

They provide the Rotorua district community with a life skill by teaching them how to swim in a simplistic, positive and fun manner.

They provide classes for people aged 6 months to adults and focus on water confidence through to technique levels including water safety components. It’s not just about learn to swim lessons at Rotorua Swimsation, they also run;

Unison Lake Safety programme
Schools lessons
Preschool group lessons
Kohanga Reo group lessons all in te reo

Community visits including hospital visits with mascot Spike and spreading the message of keeping safer around water throughout early childhood centres in Rotorua.

As a Quality Swim school Rotorua Swimsation is also:

A State Kiwi Swim Safe swim school
Has just received training to deliver Active Movement in Water workshops
Looking into supporting Gateway in their community

The ‘Unison Lake Safety Programme’ is a Lake Safety initiative in partnership with Rotorua District Council, Rotorua Aquatic Centre and Swimsation with the principal support sponsor being Unison – “The Powerlines People”.

The Unison Lake Safety Programme is a first in New Zealand and has been designed to equip children with the key elements of Aquatic Awareness and Lake Safety ensuring that they have adequate Lake Safety survival skills, whilst having fun in, on and around the lakes of Rotorua.

Recently Swimming New Zealand and Rotorua Swimsation worked together to provide the Unison Lake Safety programme to Lake Rotoma School on the lake. Click here to check out the programme.

We look forward to working with and supporting Katrina and the team at Rotorua Swimsation. Keep up the great work and we wish you all the best for the future.
